The only way to eat a Hot Cross Bun this Easter Weekend
Hot Cross Buns are a staple food of the Easter period. A spiced sweet bun usually made with fruit, marked with a cross on top to symbolize Good Friday; are most commonly enjoyed lightly toasted and lathered with butter… de-li-cious! (Especially with a cup of tea!)
In recent years, we have made way for new flavours on our supermarket shelves such as, Sainsbury’s Cheddar and Onion Chutney, or a Salted Caramel & Blond Chocolate at M&S. Heston Blumenthal has introduced us to Mocha Coffee Hot Cross Buns at Waitrose, and if that’s not fancy enough, then you can give the Fortnum and Mason Goats Cheese Honey and Fig a try! – Its safe to say the flavour combinations seem to be endless! With the dual drawers of the new Instant Vortex Plus ClearCook Air Fryer, you can now cook two different things simultaneously – which got us to thinking… how can we jump on the “fancy flavour” hot cross bun band wagon and cook a filling in one drawer whilst our hot cross buns are toasting away in the other?!
