Getting started with your Duo Crisp with Ultimate Lid

Four easy steps to learn how to use your Instant Pot Duo Crisp with Ultimate Lid!

1.2 Lid locking mechanism

Watch the video to learn how to use the lid locking mechanism correctly. Please note the lid is self sealing.

1.3 Install pressure cooking cover

Note: Sealing ring is fixed. After cooking, pressure cooking cover will be hot, always use protection when removing.

1.4 Learn about pressure release

Pressure release is selected and controlled via the digital control panel.

2.1 Clean before use

Wash the Inner Cooking Pot with hot water and soap, dry thoroughly. Wipe the heating element inside the cooker base and the inside of the lid to remove any stray packaging particles.

2.2 Perform a test run

Before using your new Duo Crisp with Ultimate Lid for the first time, you must perform a pressure-cooking test run to ensure everything is working correctly. ​

3.1 Pressure cooking
Level PSI Use for
High Pressure 10.2 – 11.6 Meat, poultry, root, vegetables, oats, beans, grains, stew, chilli
Low Pressure 5.8 – 7.2 Fish, seafood, soft vegetables, rice, egg
Tips for best results
  • Always deglaze before Pressure cooking.
  • Always add liquid when Pressure cooking.
  • Liquids should be water-based, such as broth, stick, soup or juice. If using canned, condensed, or cream-based soup, add water to ensure you meet the minimum liquid required: 6.2 l – 500 ml.
  • Do not overfill the inner pot, and ensure all contents are below the PC Max – 2/3 line shown.
3.2 Air Fry

3.3 Slow Cook

Settings Equivalent to
Less Low setting on standard slow cookers
Normal Medium setting on standard slow cookers
More High setting on standard slow cookers
Tips for best results
  • Set for a minimum of 10 hours (10:00).
  • Automatically sets to ‘Keep Warm’. Press Keep Warm setting to deactivate.
3.4 Sauté

Watch the video to learn how to sauté and deglaze.

Settings Equivalent to
Less Simmering, thickening and reducing liquids
Normal Pan searing or sautéing
More Stir-frying or browning meat
Tips for best results
  • Do not put the lid on when using the Sauté function.
  • Always deglaze the inner pot after sautéing.

Cleaning

Clean your Instant Pot after each use. Always unplug the unit and let all parts cool to room temperature before cleaning. Before use or storing, make sure all surfaces are dry.
All parts of your Duo aside from the multi cooker base and power lead are dishwasher safe.
For the steam rack and lid and lid parts, place on the top rack of the dishwasher only.
Remove all parts of the lid before cleaning.
If Multicooker base and power cord need cleaning, WIPE ONLY with a damp cloth.
Note: Check the condensation collector after each use and empty and clean it as needed. Do not allow food or moisture to sit in the condensation collector, as harmful bacteria may result.
Note: Some discolouration may occur after machine washing, but this will not affect the multicooker’s safety or performance.
